Moon Corona Advanced Classes Tier List

Advanced classes define Moon Corona’s endgame identity. After choosing one of five base classes, you unlock specializations like Barbarian, Elemental Master, and Demolition Maniac that reshape your deck and combat approach. This tier list ranks advanced classes based on Early Access launch balance, solo viability, part-breaking efficiency, and progression accessibility.

Tier lists shift with every balance patch. Check the Updates page after major patches and revisit the Class Progression Guide for unlock requirements.

S-tier advanced classes

Barbarian (Warrior path)

Barbarian is the strongest general-purpose advanced class at Early Access launch. It combines high survivability with escalating damage as health decreases, making it forgiving for new players and powerful for veterans who deliberately manage health thresholds.

Strengths: Excellent part-breaking speed with targeted melee attacks. Berserker damage scaling rewards aggressive play. Straightforward card synergies that are easy to build around. Strong performance in both solo and multi-enemy encounters.

Weaknesses: Limited range makes kiting enemies difficult. Vulnerable to enemies that punish low-health states with execute mechanics.

Best cards: Rage Strike, Blood Frenzy, Armor Shatter, Last Stand.

Elemental Master (Mage path)

Elemental Master offers the most versatile advanced class gameplay. Chaining fire, ice, and lightning creates combo effects that control groups and exploit enemy weaknesses simultaneously.

Strengths: Best area damage in the game. Elemental chains clear multi-enemy fights efficiently. Adapts to any enemy type through elemental switching. Strong utility through status effects.

Weaknesses: Lower survivability than melee classes. Complex card interactions require learning elemental chain rules. Mana management becomes critical in long fights.

Best cards: Elemental Cascade, Frost Nova, Lightning Conduit, Arcane Overload.

A-tier advanced classes

Demolition Maniac (Ranger path)

Demolition Maniac specializes in explosive area damage and battlefield control through traps. Featured prominently in Moon Corona’s marketing, this class excels at punishing grouped enemies and controlling chokepoints.

Strengths: Highest area burst damage potential. Trap synergy creates zone control. Excellent against armored enemies through explosive part-breaking. Strong in dungeon encounters with narrow corridors.

Weaknesses: Trap setup takes turns that could be spent attacking. Weaker against fast, mobile single targets. Requires planning before combat begins.

Best cards: Explosive Trap, Demolition Charge, Chain Reaction, Blast Radius.

Assassin (Thief path)

Assassin transforms the fragile Thief base class into a high-burst damage dealer with stealth protection. The stealth state reduces incoming damage, solving the Thief’s biggest weakness.

Strengths: Highest single-target burst damage. Stealth provides defensive buffer. Backstab positioning rewards skilled movement. Excellent boss killer.

Weaknesses: Still requires precise positioning. Struggles against enemies with area attacks that break stealth. Lower sustained damage than Barbarian.

Best cards: Shadow Step, Death Mark, Backstab Finisher, Vanish.

Guardian (Warrior path)

Guardian is the premier defensive advanced class. It excels in prolonged boss fights and encounters where survivability determines success.

Strengths: Highest effective health pool. Taunt mechanics control enemy targeting. Shield cards absorb massive damage. Reliable in all content types.

Weaknesses: Lower damage output extends fight duration. Can feel slow compared to aggressive classes. Requires patience in encounters that reward speed.

Best cards: Fortress Stance, Shield Wall, Taunt, Iron Will.

B-tier advanced classes

Inquisitor (Cleric path)

Inquisitor gives the Cleric meaningful offensive capability while retaining healing access. It bridges the gap between support and damage dealer.

Strengths: Holy damage bypasses some enemy resistances. Debuff abilities weaken bosses. Self-sufficient in solo content. Good against undead and dark faction enemies.

Weaknesses: Lower burst than dedicated damage classes. Healing cards still occupy deck space. Slower clear speed than S-tier classes.

Best cards: Holy Smite, Divine Judgment, Purify, Sacred Flame.

Sharpshooter (Ranger path)

Sharpshooter focuses on precision single-target damage and critical hits against specific enemy parts. It synergizes strongly with the part-breaking system.

Strengths: Highest critical hit potential. Part-targeting from range. Safe positioning during boss fights. Consistent damage without setup turns.

Weaknesses: Weak against groups without area cards. Requires good positioning knowledge. Lower trap utility than Demolition Maniac.

Best cards: Precision Shot, Weak Point, Critical Aim, Piercing Arrow.

Shadow Mage (Mage path)

Shadow Mage applies debuffs and darkness effects before delivering finishing blows. It rewards patient, methodical play.

Strengths: Strong debuff stacking. Finishing blow mechanics deal massive damage. Good against high-defense enemies. Unique darkness status effects.

Weaknesses: Slower clear speed than Elemental Master. Requires setup turns before dealing damage. Complex debuff timing.

Best cards: Shadow Bolt, Curse of Weakness, Darkness Veil, Soul Drain.

C-tier advanced classes

Trickster (Thief path)

Trickster focuses on enemy manipulation and control rather than damage. It excels in specific encounters but lacks general-purpose power.

Strengths: Best crowd control in the Thief tree. Confusion effects disrupt enemy formations. Strong in faction encounters with mixed enemy types.

Weaknesses: Lowest damage output among advanced classes. Control effects do not help in straightforward damage races. Niche utility.

Best cards: Confusion Dust, Misdirection, Swap Position, Decoy.

Archon (Cleric path)

Archon is the pure support path. While powerful in team compositions, solo players may find the lack of offensive cards limiting.

Strengths: Best healing and buffing in the game. Area protection for sustained fights. Strong in content designed around attrition.

Weaknesses: Lowest solo damage. Healing cards reduce deck space for offense. Slowest clear speed of any advanced class.

Best cards: Mass Heal, Divine Barrier, Blessing, Resurrection.

Tier list methodology

This tier list evaluates advanced classes across four criteria relevant to Early Access launch balance.

Solo viability measures how well a class completes content without support. Classes that require team composition rank lower for solo players.

Part-breaking efficiency reflects Moon Corona’s signature combat mechanic. Classes that break enemy parts quickly gain advantages in boss fights.

Progression accessibility considers how easily a class unlocks and how forgiving its card synergies are for new players.

Patch resilience estimates how likely a class survives balance changes. Classes dependent on specific card values rank lower than those with flexible strategies.

How to use this tier list

Tier rankings are starting points, not mandates. A B-tier class with cards that synergize with your collected deck often outperforms an S-tier class you cannot build properly.

Match your advanced class to your playstyle. Aggressive players should lean toward Barbarian or Assassin. Strategic players should consider Elemental Master or Demolition Maniac. Support-oriented players may enjoy Inquisitor despite its B-tier ranking.
