Moon Corona Early Access Launch Guide

Moon Corona enters Steam Early Access on July 30, 2026. Budaolong Studio expects the Early Access period to last approximately six months, using player feedback to balance cards, classes, and story pacing before the full release. This guide explains what launches on day one, how it differs from the demo, and how to get the most from your first hours in the Duchy of Reinhart.

What launches on July 30, 2026

The Early Access version includes nearly all core gameplay systems Budaolong Studio designed for Moon Corona. You can experience the full deckbuilding loop, class progression from five base classes into advanced specializations, tactical grid combat with part-breaking, faction-driven story choices, and open exploration across castles, wilderness, villages, cities, cathedrals, and dungeons.

A typical first playthrough of the content available at launch offers roughly 16 hours of gameplay. Replay value comes from different classes, deck strategies, faction paths, and whisper collection. The developers plan to add the remaining late-game regions during Early Access — roughly 40 percent of total planned level content is still being balanced and polished for post-launch updates.

Steam features confirmed for Moon Corona include single-player, Steam Achievements, Steam Cloud saves, and Family Sharing support.

Demo vs Early Access vs full release

If you played the Steam Next Fest demo (June 16–23, 2026) or the earlier playtest, you already experienced a slice of Moon Corona’s systems. The demo focused on Warrior and Mage base classes, tutorial areas, and early story beats. Early Access opens the full class tree, deeper faction storylines, more cards, and substantially more world content.

Playtest saves transferred to the demo version. Early Access is a separate purchase — check the Steam store page for whether demo progress carries forward to the EA build at launch. When in doubt, back up save folders before updating.

The full release will mainly expand playable regions and late-game levels rather than replace core mechanics. Pricing may increase as content grows; Budaolong Studio has stated they will announce price changes in advance on official channels.

What to expect in the first 6 months

During Early Access, Budaolong Studio plans to expand explorable areas, add cards and classes, tune balance from community feedback, and improve quality-of-life features. Update cadence during the demo period was roughly monthly; expect a mix of larger content drops and smaller hotfixes after launch.

Community feedback channels include the Steam Community Hub, developer social media, and Discord. Reports about card balance, class identity, difficulty spikes, and UI clarity directly influence patch priorities.

AI art disclosure

Budaolong Studio uses AI tools during early concepting and intermediate rendering for some 2D art, UI, and narrative cutscenes. All generated material is manually repainted and edited to match the dark fantasy look. Core gameplay, level design, and combat systems are 100 percent handcrafted.

After the opening temple sequence, prioritize learning movement-based combat before optimizing your deck. The Combat Guide explains positioning, part-breaking, and terrain advantages. Collect whispers during exploration — they add context to faction choices covered in the Story Guide.

Build your first deck around one damage source, one defensive answer, and one utility card rather than chasing every synergy at once. The Deck Building Guide walks through card ratios and class-exclusive synergies.
